Book Writing and Publishing Tips

Book Writing and Publishing Tips

fantasy

Writing is a skill and art at the same time. Unless you have both, it's not going to be easy writing the sunday paper, no matter how good your posts may be. And even if you possess skill and artistic inclinations, you can still find so many other factors to consider if you want your book on the market, where people can avail of it.

I will lay out for you, important factors you'll want to consider in writing and publishing a book. Additionally, I will also show you the steps to consider so that you will be better prepared.
Permit me to start with the factors first, before I check out the steps.
Way with words-at all
I don't mean to discourage those who don't have writing skills. However, to be honest, let me say that a great book requires good writing, first of all. If you have a real good story to inform, or concept to market, then better be willing to pay a ghost writer to write down for you. A lot of highly successful people do this and have performed this.

Good writing, however, does not need you to be a great writer. You have editors to generate your writing sound and search better. What you need is basic writing ability, which includes knowledge of the right grammatical structure, punctuation, and spelling. Evidently this also includes knowing how to type and knowing how to use a computer.

series
Trust me, I have proofread and edited some books that shocked me. Some would not even pass for writing skills of an elementary student.
ARTISTRY
If you aren't writing something technical or academic, you will need a lot of creativity in some recoverable format a book. You should be able to take your readers for a ride so that they will enjoy your story. There needs to be highs and lows, tears and joy, success and failures, and all other emotional triggers that will keep your readers intrigued by your book.
ORGANIZED THOUGHTS
A lot of people are gifted with organized thoughts; other people not. To those that do not have this gift, there's a way to keep your thoughts organized, which is to learn how to focus. Planning is a key ingredient here, that i will explain further from the "steps".
Meditation helps a good deal in organizing your thoughts. Prayer and reading the Bible while playing some instrumental worship music, is the greatest meditation for me. Walking outside and enjoying nature helps as well me focus, provided I can have some private time.
RELEVANCE
Your book will only be good if your target audience can relate to it. This means that your theme should be relevant. It is pointless writing a magazine about winter should you be writing for a group who's not even experienced this weather. Incidentally, you need to know who your market niche is just before writing. Consider them all the time when you are writing - where did they would feel, that they would react. Simply speaking, put yourself in their shoes like a reader.
PURPOSE
Without purpose, your book may have no direction. You may not even be able to start writing it. And even if you are able to start, you might not be able to finish it. The objective of your book ought to be the very foundation of your writing, as well as the main source of your inspiration.
These questions will help you identify the purpose of your book.
Why am I writing this book?
What prompted me to write down this book?
Who inspired me to create this book?
After that this book do for me?
What will this book do for others?
TIMING
Timing is extremely crucial when it comes to publishing a book, more so if the relevance of your respective theme or subject matter is needed NOW. Take into account the perfect season for your book to be released. Would it be better to have it out for sale during the Christmas season or prior to that? Will it be wiser to be in bookstores by the summer? It all depends on your theme and online marketing strategy. I will explain this read more about the steps below.
RESOURCES
Better be ready with all the resources needed once you plan to write a novel, more so the money you will want. You can work your way towards your monetary goal but no less than have something to utilize. I know writers who finished their book draft but didn't have any money to publish it, which discouraged them needless to say.
Yes you can walk by faith, that's what I did together with the first edition of my book. But that faith was matched with determination and works at the same time.
COMMITMENT
I know many people who told me that they will write a book, and years have gone and they haven't even started writing anything. Some have begun writing, but half-way through, got distracted, and has not gone back to it. Others are discussing their second and third book without finishing the first.
The ultimate way to do it is to start it when you are ready to finish all this the way through. "Strike the iron though it may be hot"... and keep going. Tend not to lose the momentum.
Since I have explained the standards involved in writing the sunday paper, let me proceed to the steps. These steps actually focus on the factors I have discussed. These steps will allow you to avoid mistakes that you will regret doing and can surely improve your chances for success.
1. Have a general theme for your book.
Having a theme will direct you in making your title, your outline, as well as your entire content. It can be easier to narrow things down if you have a theme. For instance, in case your theme is "women", you can narrow it down to "married women" and down to "Christian married women". From that point you can further narrow it down regarding the topic you want to target such as "submission to the husband".
2. Know your market niche or target market.
I already gave a clear example of the market niche above. "Married Christian Women" can be a market niche. You ought to be as specific and narrowed down as possible, so it will be simpler to write and market the ebook.
If you are writing about financial planning, you have to know who your specific marketplace is. You can't say it is for everyone. You will need to identify who will be interested in it, and who needs it. What gender... age bracket... social status... religious belief?
3. Write an outline and work after that.
When writing a plan, start with the main topics first. Then complete it with sub-topics. Let me use "Married Christian Women" since the example here again, with concentrate on submitting to their husbands.
Biblical Guide about the Role of the Wife in Marriage
Submission
Adapting to
Gentle and quiet Spirit
Proverbs 31 woman
Problems Christian Wives Face
Unfaithful husband
Controlling husband
Violent husband
A non-Christian husband
Alcoholism and abusing drugs
The Boundaries of Submission
What areas to undergo
What areas to not submit to
The Challenge in Submission
If the wife is the bread winner
If the husband is unfaithful
In the event the husband is not saved
In the event the husband is physically violent
Once the husband is addicted to drugs and/or alcohol
The Fulfillment in Submission
How it changes the husband
The way promotes humility
The way becomes a great example for the husband
Hindrances to Submission
Independent spirit
Not enough respect
Weak reasons for faith
Polar differences
Practical Guidelines to Submission
How to deal with an independent spirit
Gaining respect on your husband
Adjusting your approaches to your husband's ways
From this level you can keep on adding a lot more sub-topics. Once your outline is see-through, writing will be so much easier. You will just flow smoothly because you already have a guide.
4. Think of a catchy title.
Your title needs to be relevant to the times, on your target market, and to your theme. It should be something that can be easily understood through your intended audience. When individuals see it, they should possess a clear idea of what the book is all about, whilst still being maintaining some mystery to it.
Following are sample titles for my "Married Christian Wives" example.

5. Have a very plan.
Do not start writing the sunday paper without any plan. This is actually the only way you can stay committed to it, and will raise your chances for success.
Your plan includes your entire timetable, from the moment of writing to selling your book. Make sure you work backwards. Begin with the time you want your books out available, and work backwards following that.
Publishing takes of a month or two, or can even go longer than that, from the time of submission of manuscript. For those who have a separate editor than your publisher, then you need to incorporate that inside your timetable too. I give my clients 3-4+ weeks to edit a novel, depending on the extent of editing I will do. If your publisher will do the marketing for you, then you have to ask them how much time it will take from publishing that will get them out available for sale. If you will do your own marketing, you have to take into account the venues that you will be promoting your book and exactly how long it will take to create and coordinate with one of these venues, as well as your guests.
Book promotion covers pre-launching, actual launching, and post launching. The pre-launching includes hyping up your intended audience, a lot like some teaser, to obtain them curious and searching forward to your book. Your launching is your big debut, where you introduce your book for the public. Prior to this you will need to consider press releases, invitations, and other preparations. The post launching entails more selling which might include talks, interviews, and also other means of promotions.
Besides your entire plan for your book, you will need to plan for a day, time, and set where you can do your writing every day.
Your plans must also include your budget.
6. Explore your publishing options.
There are many publishing options these days. Gone are the days when your only choices to submit your manuscript to some publisher and if they like it, they will publish it.
Here's a list of things the publisher are able to do for you. Find out what that you can do on your own, or what you could outsource to other people. Be wise and artistic.
Proofreading/editing
Book Cover design
Typesetting
Text layout and design

For my clients I offer proofreading, editing, and typesetting. This means that when we submit the project to the publisher, all they are going to do is final proofreading prior to the text layout and design. This may or may well not save on cost, with regards to the publisher you are going to use. I've two publishers in my list that I can recommend for you, depending on where you live. I'm very comfortable dealing with these people.
7. Produce your marketing strategy.
This may fall part of the plan and definately will only apply to those who want to do their own marketing. It provides "where", "how", and "when". Where does one intend to market your book? How do you intend to do it? When do you plan to do it?
Bearing each one of these things in mind, it really is pretty obvious that writing the sunday paper is not an easy task. However, by using these guidelines, your book can be the next bestseller.
